i WILL enjoy tonight's episode. locke will continue to be a hilarious badass. the producers claimed that the four-toed foot statue will play a super-major role in the overall story. that's incredibly exciting. ALSO, there is a huge "jump-the-shark" "game-changing" thing that will happen sometime soon. if time travel and alternate realities aren't game-changing, that's also incredibly exciting. ( today i found out there are a lot of lost websites...) If they were lost websites, how did you find them??? HA HA though seriously I don't understand how they can write for that without one of those things. if you wish to break four seasons ever you need new locations, even if they are ONLY IN YOUR MIND

i just got off the phone with a since-kindergarten friend who also watches lost religiously, and we decided that there is no way to know what is happening. there are so many variables and factors that weigh on each other, any theory we could bring up is stopped with a "yeah, but..."
how can anyone/any organization have a file on someone like they have on locke or sawyer? how can they kidnap cooper as he's driving? how can they run over juliet's husband with a bus?
all signs point to hell. i mean ALL signs. even the smoke monster being "cerberus" points to hell. the heiroglyphs on the swan's 108 counter translate to "underworld". there were way too many references in tonight's episode. if it turns out to actually be hell, i'd be very disappointed. i can only assume they are references to their situation.

i agree that most signs point to hell, and it is the most plausible answer at this point
but there is really no way it will be after tonight, they wouldn't explicitly say the answer in-episode like that with 2 seasons left
i think it was just the writers making fun of everyone saying it was purgatory
plus, we've seen juliette interacting with the others pre-island in the flashbacks

also, ben said locke brought his father to the island
if it was hell that wouldn't really make sense, unless there is more to the car crash than he explained

I gotta catch myself back up! I've got like the last 5 eps on my computer and have yet to watch them. That's what happens when you save them to watch with your girlfriend, and both of you have crazy work/grad school schedules.

POLISHQ DON'T READ THIS!!!:
as far as jacob goes..."he" seems to me to be the island itself. if the island is a living entity then that would explain quite a bit.
the dharma initiative is somehow mistreating the island, and the natives/hostiles are protecting it. is that is what is so special about the island? that it's alive? there must be something else very very special that it and the natives are protecting.
somehow ben rose up in the ranks of the natives...not sure how.
