just got some info from carey about the song they perform on the live 2001 bootleg:
"holiday treat was recorded for a 7 inch split w/ jerk with a bomb but never came out...we lost the original somewhere so it is gone gone gone..."
how sad is that? great song.

What a bummer, they need to bring that one back. I don't understand how prolific songwriters such as Carey can dismiss such great songs like that.

i mean, they could record it again. right now. !. seriously. we better start requesting it at shows. do frog eyes even take requests? just the thought of shouting "one in six children will flee in boats" makes me tongue-tied, but "holiday treat" is not bad.

he says he can't remember songs past a certain point. you probably won't get your wish. dude has written many, many songs when you factor in Blue Pine and pre-Blue Pine bands.

I was thinking about how to yell requests too. I think I'm just gonna yell "rock and roll hands" instead of "Silence But For The Gentle Tinkling Of The Flowing Creek." I hope Carey knows what I'm talking about.

I'm seriously interested in trying to find this track. How did you hear it? Have you heard it? Any other clues?

You're right, this song is pretty awesome. It would be nice to have a recorded version of it, especially with Carey's intro regarding Athens and bullies. Perhaps our best bet would be to start a petition?
