the new interpol song (http://www.forums.spinner.com/2007/05/01/interpols-new-song-is-bi-coastal/) is fairly disappointing... i mean, it's totally great and okay and fine and all...but it's not anything new. i was hoping for SOME sort of different sound. like some wacky keyboards or something.

i haven't heard a great rip, but it's a tad underwhelming.
kind of like the entire album 'antics'

i VERY strongly encourage everyone to listen to the alex delivery record. here's a song: www.scjag.com/mp3/jag/komad.mp3it's SOOOOOOO good. should the choice be forced upon me, i would GLADLY erase entire simpsons episodes from existence for this song to exist. (nothing before the 11th season.)

sleeved and granddaughters of the blacklist by the capstan shafts is here: www.the-collective.net/~sashwap/capstan/give it a few solid listens for the songs' hooks to really sink in. "st. paul" and "brush cleaning boy" in particular are hits. ps: my previous link was broken! just go to the above directory! dude sounds like a more subdued jeff mangum. that is not a bad thing. reminds me a little of the early early shins stuff. again not a bad thing.

every post about that record makes me want to listen to it less and less.

i don't know. neutral milk hotel is okay and early shins is...i don't even remember...probably good?? i'm not really into the whole dude-and-an-acoustic-guitar deal.
if you said something like "what the fuck!? this record destroys me!" instead of "is this jeff mangum's cousin?" i'd probably turn off the simpsons and listen to it right now. but i'll just sit on my desktop as a rar file for a little while. i WILL listen to it soon, rest assured.

a) have any of you heard the shins 'nature bears a vacuum' EP? If not, THAT IS BEING UPLOADED
b) he uses good electric guitar, and if anyhting it fall victim to sameness a bit. four of the last five songs have had THE SAME EXACT DRUMBEAT which is a tad problematic. it's good.
c) it certainly doesn't destroy me though. I like it, but that's as far as this relationship will go.

i've listened to the shins as much as i've listened to bonnie tyler or outkast. they don't really play a large part in my music life, although they do make some prominant appearences.

i'm not really into the whole dude-and-an-acoustic-guitar deal. …this stuff's crazy! it's just this one guy, mainly on electric guitar and layering a bunch of other stuff on top. i guess the recording style and the fuzz on the vox make it kinda like early jeff mangum and stuff, his voice is like a mix of other people, but other than that "this fucking destroys me!"

a) have any of you heard the shins 'nature bears a vacuum' EP? If not, THAT IS BEING UPLOADED awesome EP. as for the capstan shafts, there are SO many great songs spread out across his millions of albums. i like that sort of thing. samey, sure, but consistent. also, i don't hear the NMH comparisons. well, maybe a little, but just the guy's voice. although he mostly sounds like tobin sprout.
