"kid a," the song, is like the greatest thing ever. other than "paranoid android."

the thing is, paranoid android isn't THAT good a song. really.
knives out does the chord progression just as good.
that said, live kid a (though i haven't directly witnessed it) is AMAZING. even better than the stellar album version.

"knives out" is awesome too, but that's only like one third of "paranoid android." that slow part at the end? that killer guitar freakout?
i'm biased, because "paranoid android" was the first radiohead song i heard. came home from school one day and caught the video on tv. never heard of the band before. i thought it was pretty bad, but it left a huge impression on me and no more than a week later i owned ok computer and it changed the way i thought of music forever.

Paranoid Android was also my first Radiohead song. My friend was using the "RAIN DOWN" part in a movie. I had never heard anything like it before and sure enough I ended up with the album and it opened up a whole new world of music for me.

the "rain down" part of paranoid android is probably the most important moment of music in my entire life.
it's at least indirectly responsible for almost every music-related interest i have.
