Awesome! Thanks Mike and Tommmmm! Mike, I would take you up on it but I just ordered one of my own (plus the Art Brut album). EDIT: Damn m4a's, making me upgrade my Winamp...

this EP is quite curveball. i was just reading the new interview with carey and his statement about how the new album will sound pretty much the same as all the rest, and it made me wonder if he'd just keep doing the same thing -- evolving and honing his skills, sure, but basically repeating himself, or repeating the same sound at least. this EP has made me realize what a varied and ambitious output he is producing.
of course, had i thought about the differences between ego scriptor and the blackout beach album, or blue pine and the folded palm, or the bloody hand and a live concert, i should have known that this guy would never really sit still.
the future is interdiscipinary is much trippier (for lack of a better word) than the usual frog eyes. it seems to have borrowed a bit from animal collective (those rapid, flimsy acoustic strums, strange percussion, and echoey distant vocals). i imagine the swan lake album will sound similar (if it is indeed "trippy"), but with more of an emphasis on vocals/individual songs.

"politics" should be a ten minute singalong jam
